Allen Weber Signs Digital Distribution Agreement with theJazzBox.ca

Jacksonville FL December 11, 2013 — Hot of the heels of the Allen Weber Hot Shock album making it’s 88.5 fm radio debut on a jazz show hosted by Kenny MacKenzie, local Jacksonville musician and leader of Hot Shock Band, Allen Weber has just signed a digital distribution agreement with Canadian distributor TheJazzBox.ca who specializes in all genres of jazz.

“I was contacted by Timothy Booth owner of TheJazzBox.ca who told me he was given my info by one of his industry sources,”, said Allen Weber, “When I found out TheJazzBox.ca was specializing in distribution of all genres of jazz I knew we had to make a deal.”

Booth who’s company has a strong social media presence requested the material to personally vet it making sure it fit into the jazz genre. In this case jazz rock/jazz fusion. “After listening to Allen Weber with his Hot Shock band album ‘Hot Shock’ I knew it was right for us”said Booth. “Hot Shock music is exciting and different from most. It is for the most part hard fusion, with some Latin and Caribbean mixed in. We’re excited to have Hot Shock on our roster.”

Currently TheJazzBox.ca is selling and delivering mp3 format only (high resolution 320Kbps mp3’s complete with inside album liner notes), but has plans to expand into other formats including physical cd’s. The high quality mp3’s give the buyer instant access to the music, rather than having to wait for a physical cd.

Weber’s Hot Shock band for the recording consisted of Guitar: Weber; Keyboards: Mike Noble; Bass: John Baker; Drums: Frank Basile. Weber and Noble each added a touch of vocals to a couple of tracks.

Weber — who like a lot of artists whose name is on their band, is the artist and uses “hired guns” for recording
and performances — has been playing guitar and writing music since 1969 cites influences for his Sandunga Jazz Fusion music as: Joe Zawinul; Weather Report; Ramsey Lewis; Chick Corea and Return to Forever; Jeff Beck; Arturo Sandoval; Cannonball Adderley; Crusaders; John McLaughlin; and Carlos Santana (when he was playing jazz fusion in the late 1970’s)
